Bush proves UN is irrelevant
Bush is about to prove his allegation that the UN is irrelevant by invading
Iraq without UN sanction with his toady Grover Dill, I mean Tony Blair.*
Consider the following facts:
- The UN Security Council can't stop a rogue nation that violates its environmental,
nuclear and biological weapons treaties routinely.
- The Security Council can't stop the same rogue nation from developing advanced
missile delivery systems and dumping its chemical pollutants across international
boundaries.
- The Security Council can't stop the same rogue nation from violating any
number of International and Human Rights principles to protect their questionably
government from outside attack (Some countries, admittedly, are worse this
doesn't excuse them)
- The Security Council can't stop the same rogue nation from coercing other
nations into submitting to its will.
- The Security Council can't stop the same rogue nation from its threats to
invade and otherwise destroy sovereign nations simply because those countries
might pose a threat that the rogue nation refuses to quantify.
- The Security Council can't hasn't been able to make the same rogue nation
pay dues since the 1980s, but still lets that nation dictate the council's
agenda.
Clearly any international body that can't reign in a rouge nation that poses
such a threat has lost its usefulness.
We know who that rogue nation is. The United States.
If I were the UN I'd vote our sorry asses of the Security Council and put them
on probation. If the UN fails to follow the terms of our probation, well, hell,
hopefully we'll have run the Republicans and the Republicrats out of Congress
and replaced them with all new legislators that aren't bought and paid for by
their corporate masters.
*Sorry, I confused them with the bullies that beat up on Ralphie and his friends
in Christmas story.
Never Rush to judgment. Think for yourself.
