The French reacted to America's anti-French reactionary wave with profound indifference last week. "They're Americans. They're fucking crazy," said Pierre Jouillet, French man on the street Friday. "Besides pappas frittes are Belgian anyway.They can name them whatever they want."
After answering questions, Pierre went for lunch at a Paris Burger King because he didn't intend to cost Parisian workers their jobs by boycotting "cultural barbarians who wouldn't get the message anyway."
All over France, French citizens responded to Americans dumping their French wine by doing nothing. "Nobody in France buys American wine anyway," said wine merchant Ettienne Oueff. "Americans couldn't grow grapes if they stole them from France. Which, by the way, they did. We're sure not going to waste good francs to buy their wine now."
How will the French respond to American criticism. "Same as always," Parisian teenager Jean Paul Poissonyieu said. "Cherchez les femmes."
