Americans Surprised by Iraqi Resistance

Lack of iraqi support attributed to nationalist upsurge

Tuesday, 3/25/03: President Bush-Lite's War Marketing Department now says they weren't prepared for a sudden upsurge in Iraqi nationalism. A number of Iraqis have to told reporters they would rather live under Saddam's repression than US repression. This sentiment completely baffles war planners who believed the Iraqis would greet our troops with open arms, and the soldiers would surrender without a fight. After all, didn't we spend millions of tax dollars to leaflet the country so they would love us?

Here's a clue, George. When Hitler invaded Russia, the Soviets didn't say, "Hey, Mr. Hitler, help us get rid of this evil Stalin."

You'd almost think Bush-Lite's staff really believed all those hours playing dungeons and dragons and their Avalon Hill war games would prepare them for a real war. Maybe Bush-Lite thought this war would be just like his own experience in Vietnam where the natives greeted him with a six-pack and girls as soon as he finished a vital jet mission.
